The Mayor of London has released a special New Year message to the members of the Jewish community.

Boris Johnson thanked the community for playing “an active and important role in ensuring that London has shone like never before over the past year.

“I am grateful to everyone who has volunteered their time, helped organise an event in their neighbourhood, or just gone out of their way to help a friend or neighbour.

“The Jewish community has done so much to shape London’s past and its present, and I look forward to us continuing to work closely together to shape our great city’s future.

“I wish you all a happy and healthy Rosh Hashanah and the very best for the fast. L'Shanah Tovah Tikatevu”.
