A man has appeared at Newcastle magistrates’ court alongside a police officer who allegedly advertised herself on an escort website.

A man has appeared at Newcastle magistrates’ court alongside a police officer who allegedly advertised herself on an escort website.

Osher Marks, 56, of Ravenscourt Place, Gateshead, faced charges of conspiracy to manage brothels for prostitution and conspiracy to control prostitutes for gain. Alongside him was Victoria Thorne, 28, of Washing, Tyne and Wear, who was charged with misconduct in a public office.

Also in the dock were Neil Lock, 27, of Abbotsfield Road, Galashiels, his wife Natalie Lock, 28, and Nigel Lock, 59, of Crescent Road, Manchester. Neil Lock was charged with procuring misconduct in a public office. He, Natalie and Nigel Lock were also charged with conspiracy to manage brothels for prostitution and conspiracy to control
prostitutes for gain.

None of the accused entered pleas and all five were released on conditional bail. They will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on December 22.
