Mr Peres and the Prince spoke for about 30 minu te s about the peace process, the Iranian nuclear programme and the Prince's ecological initiatives.
When the president invited the Prince to visit Israel , Prince Charles responded: "I have been dreaming all of my life to go to visit my grandmother's grave ", (Princess Alice of Battenberg is buried on Jerusalem's Mount of Olives) but he did not say whether he would accept the invitation . Last year the JC revealed memos between two Clarence House aides in which they wrote that the Prince would never visit Israel due to the diplomatic situation.
Mr Peres brought a gift for the Prince to mark his 60th birthday, a bronze statue tte of a horse made by artist Raziela Gershon . Prince Charles noted that he is the same age as the state of Israel.
