President Peres' packed timetable for his London visit

Monday evening November 17 - Mr Peres arrives at Heathrow, he is greeted by Foreign Office officials before travelling to his central London hotel.

Tuesday November 18- 8am - Mr Peres gives media interviews at his hotel, including appearances on the BBC's Today and Hardtalk programmes.

10am - Jewish Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Ian Luder, greets Mr Peres at Mansion House, City of London. He signs the ‘distinguished visitors' guestbook.

Business leaders hear Mr Peres deliver the keynote address, "Israel: Driving the Middle East business engine forward", followed by a question and answer session.

11.25am - The Marquess of Douro and Professor Richard Trainor present Mr Peres with an honorary doctorate from King's College, London. Culture Secretary Lord Mandelson gives a speech extolling Britain and Israel's economic ties.

4pm - Back at his hotel Mr Peres holds a private meeting with Conservative Party leader David Cameron and Shadow Foreign Minister William Hague.

7.45pm - Mr Peres arrives at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford to give a lecture on ‘The Globalisation of Peace' to Oxford University's Student Union.

9pm - Following the lecture, during which he is heckled by pro-Palestinian groups, Mr Peres returns to London.

Wednesday November 19 - 9am - Opinion-makers from cultural, academic and media organisations join Mr Peres for a breakfast meeting at his hotel.

10.30am - Briefing with the British press.

4pm - Mr Peres arrives at Westminster Abbey and is met by The Very Reverend Dr John Hall, Dean of Westminster. He leads Mr Peres to the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior where the President lays a wreath.

Short prayer service is followed by tour of the abbey.

4.30pm - The President is received at the House of Lords by Black Rod, the Speaker of the House of Commons Michael Martin and the Lord Speaker Baroness Hayman.

He then addresses both Houses of Parliament in the Robing Room.

6.30pm - Israeli Ambassador to Britain Ron Prosor and UJIA chairman Mick Davies welcome Mr Peres to St John's Wood Synagogue. He has dinner with members of Britain's Jewish community.

Thursday November 20 - 12pm - Mr Peres arrives at Buckingham Palace to be welcomed by the Master of the Household, Air Vice-Marshall David Walker. The President has a private audience with the Queen.

3.15pm - Prince Charles and Mr Peres meet at Clarence House for discussions.

5.15pm - Foreign Secretary David Miliband welcomes the President for a meeting at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Whitehall.

6.25pm - Prime Minister Gordon Brown greets Mr Peres at 10 Downing Street. They hold discussions before dinner in the State Dining Room.
