Police have released images of two men they want to speak to after a Jewish man was subjected to antisemitic abuse and was told Jews were "the scourge of the earth”.

Marlon Solomon, 40, shared his account on Twitter about how the two men who approached him last month in a kebab shop in Manchester and asked “are you a f***ing Jew?"

Mr Solomon, who filmed the incident, said they approached him and started making “snide remarks” and told him he “was not British and that Jews should be wiped out. They gave me the fash salute.”

Police told the Manchester Evening News that they have carried out "several lines of enquiry" since the incident, which took place at around 10.30pm on Saturday, November 16.

Mr Solomon reported the incident the following day.

“They were shouting about Holocaust denial and saying they had proof on their phones that it didn’t happen,” Mr Solomon said.

Speaking to the JC at the time of the incident, he said: “I was very upset and tearful afterwards and was thinking about all the things I wish I had said.

“I also felt really angry. When I played the video to my friend they said it was important to share it even if I wasn’t happy with what I said in the moment because it is important for people to see that this happens.”

The police said they had studied CCTV footage of the incident and released images of two men they wish to speak to.

PC Lukman Intwala of the City of Manchester Division said: “This was a despicable and vile offence that no one should ever be subjected to.

“Although no arrests have been made we are working hard to find those responsible and have a dedicated team committed to this investigation.

"I hope this goes to show that such abuse will not be tolerated within Greater Manchester and we will continue to do all that we can to put a stop to attacks of this abhorrent nature.

“We are appealing to members of the public to assist us in identifying the men in these images as we want to speak to them in connection to the incident.

"If you have any information, please come forward as a matter of urgency.”
