Oligarch's divorce sets legal record

articlemain

A billionaire Russian Jewish oligarch has agreed what is believed to the biggest divorce settlement in British legal history.

Boris Berezovsky will make a payout worth "hundreds of millions of pounds" to his former wife Galina.

The 64-year-old, a former business partner of Roman Abramovich, is one of the world's richest men.

Despite the large sum, which broke a record set in 2006, a judge said the settlement was made on amicable terms. The couple divorced last year, ending an 18 year marriage. They have two children together.
