Nick's trick baffles magical pair Penn and Teller

A Borehamwood magician is to perform in Las Vegas after fooling renowned illusionists Penn and Teller with a food-related trick.

Nicholas Einhorn, a gold star member of the Inner Magic Circle and the resident magician at Tottenham Hotspur football club, was one of two acts to win on the ITV1 show on Saturday.

Mr Einhorn will now perform alongside Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller in their Vegas show in the autumn.

The father-of-two baffled the experts by arranging three dinners on a table and using his magical skills to predict which audience member would choose which meal.

He said: "I wanted to do something completely original and unique. I did feel the pressure.

"I looked cool and calm, but it was really nerve-racking."

The episode was filmed more than a month ago, and Mr Einhorn said his win "was the hardest secret I have ever had to keep".

The conjurer, who was a runner-up in the 1996 Young Jewish Performer of the Year competition, has twice won the Magic Circle Close-up Magician of the Year award.

Although skilled at his craft, he has not yet been able to conjure up much magic at White Hart Lane, where he entertains VIP guests enjoying hospitality during football matches.

As for Penn and Teller, they were genuinely stumped. "That is a remarkable trick," said Penn.

"We have close to a century of combined knowledge of magic and Teller's huge magic library in Las Vegas. And we were fooled. I mean, not a clue. If you put a gun to my head and said, take a guess how he did it, I would say - tell my family I love them."
