 Prince Charles has agreed to become patron of the Jewish Museum, his first patronage of a Jewish organisation in Britain. He took a similar role for the museum's 75th anniversary last year. The Museum is in the middle of a £4.2 million expansion that will triple the space at its Camden Town premises and integrate the collections, displays and activities of its two former sites under one roof. The state-of-the-art museum is scheduled to reopen in Autumn 2009.

 Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has been named one of the most influential people of the 21st century by Esquire magazine. The owner of Chelsea Football Club, Mr Abramovich is worth an estimated £11.7 billion according to the Sunday Times Rich List. Earlier this month he ranked eighth on Vanity Fair's list of the world's 100 most powerful people.

 University College London has renamed the library at its Hebrew and Jewish studies department in commemoration of Professor John Klier. Professor Klier, who died a year ago aged 62, was a former head of the department and a specialist in Russian Jewish history.

 North West London butcher Kosher Delicatessen will not be prosecuted after an investigation by Barnet Council into the misuse of additives. Owner Albert Bendahan said: "The public's health is our prime concern and we maintain the highest possible standards."

 The Football Association teamed up with the London Jewish Forum and the National Association of Muslim Police last week to establish a new working group to tackle antisemitism and Islamophobia. Under discussion were ways to kick racism out of football.
