New fine-dining London kosher restaurant set for spring opening

Tish Bar & Kitchen has announced that it will open in “spring 2018”, with the KLBD confirming that it will be providing kashrut certification

Weeks after the announcement of one kosher restaurant opening in central London, another venue has announced plans to launch “in the heart” of the city.

Tish Bar & Kitchen has announced that it will open in “spring 2018”, with the KLBD, the London Beth Din’s kashrut authority, confirming that it will be providing certification for the new restaurant.

The new fine-dining venue is currently recruiting for a range of staff, including chefs, managers, waiters and shomrim [food supervisors].

In an advert sent to the JC, the restaurant was described as “glatt kosher in the heart of London” and offering “gourmet food, beautiful dining room and bar and a stunning courtyard terrace”.

Two weeks ago the JC reported that Zest, the restaurant which has been operating out of the JW3 Jewish community centre since, 2013, would be opening a lunchtime “pop-up meaty restaurant” at the Bevis Marks synagogue in the city.

There has been no kosher fine dining option in central London since the closure of the Bevis Marks and 1701 restaurants in 2015.

A spokesperson for Tish Bar & Kitchen declined to answer questions from the JC, saying, “we are undertaking no publicity at this time.”
