The current head of the Menorah Foundation School in Edgware has been announced as the new headteacher of Yavneh Primary School when it opens next year.

Caroline Field will take up the position next summer, ahead of Yavneh Primary’s grand opening in September 2016 with an inaugural reception class.

Yavneh College’s headteacher Spencer Lewis said: "[Ms Lewis] has an outstanding reputation and will be a huge asset to Yavneh Primary School and to the executive leadership team of the Yavneh schools.”

He added: “The plan is to open [the junior school] in temporary accommodation on the school site, while the permanent building is completed”.

Ms Field said she was “absolutely delighted” with the appointment.

“To create a new school that will be part of the Yavneh family of schools is a unique and exciting opportunity,” she said. “I look forward to sharing the journey that we are embarking on and to welcoming our first intake of reception children.”

The school will be hosting an open day on December 3 to share more information about its upcoming junior division.
