Man charged with murdering Israeli woman

A man has been charged with murdering an Israeli woman who was stabbed to death at her home in London.

Rivka Holden, who was 55, was found dead at her flat in Colindale, north west London, on Sunday.

Ms Holden had lived in the area for a number of years and was known to members of the nearby Kingsbury Synagogue.

She suffered from poor health and had undergone an operation on her foot.

Barnet Police are understood to be working with rabbis to return her body to Israel for burial.

Nicolae Patraucean, a 20-year-old Romanian living in Stanmore was charged with her murder and appeared before magistrates on Tuesday. He was remanded in custody.

Police said Ms Holden's red Hyundai was stolen and remains missing. It was last seen in the Kingsbury area.

Officers investigating her death are asking for anyone with information to come forward and call their incident room on 020 8785 8244.
