Life's a beach for Israel-born photographer

Last week was a big week for Israeli-born, London-based photographer Nadav Kander. On Monday, he was named International Photographer of the Year at the prestigious Lucie Awards for his series of photographs portraying members of President Obama’s administration.

Then on Thursday, in Paris, he was awarded the Prix Pictet photography prize for environmental sustainability by the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan. Mr Kander was nominated for his series of photos, Yangtze, The Long River Series, 2006-07, which document the landscape and communities along the river. Mr Kander has lived in London since 1986.
