Life ban for racist fan

articlemain

A man has been banned from every football ground in the country after he sang antisemitic songs at Tottenham Hotspur fans while dressed as cartoon character Scooby Doo.

Adam Wilson, 27, wore the costume to raise money for charity while watching Manchester City play the London club on November 9.

But half an hour into the game he began singing about concentration camps and the extermination of Jews.

On Monday, he admitted one charge of racially aggravated harassment at Manchester City Magistrates' Court and was fined £115 plus £60 costs.

Wilson, of Welland Street, Manchester, was also banned from every football ground in England and Wales for three years.

Manchester City imposed a lifetime ban on him attending matches at their Eastlands stadium, where the incident took place.
