articlemain

Britain’s youngest Jewish MP has married at a ceremony in a historic Liverpool synagogue.

Luciana Berger married Alistair Goldsmith at the Grade I-listed Princes Road Synagogue, in the constituency neighbouring the Liverpool Wavertree seat which she represents for Labour.

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis officiated at the wedding on Sunday.

Mr Goldsmith runs a music management company in the city.

Ms Berger was Shadow Public Health Minister in the last Parliament and is expected to be handed a key shadow cabinet role when her party elects a new leader in September.
