KeshetUK names first ever executive director

Dalia Fleming, who has volunteered with KeshetUK since 2012, will focus on building on the charity's training, education and advocacy work

KeshetUK, which promotes LGBT+ rights for Jews, has appointed Dalia Fleming as its first-ever executive director.

Ms Fleming, also the grassroots movement’s first ever full-time employee, will take over the executive functions previously held by the charity’s board of trustees.

She will also work with KeshetUK’s director of programmes, Neil Levitan, and its volunteer co-ordinator, Emma Grant, to build on the charity’s training, education and advocacy work, starting her new role in November.

Ms Fleming said: “I am excited to build on the momentum that KeshetUK has created over the last six years, placing us at the forefront when communities, organisations and individuals are working to make their worlds more inclusive.”

Ms Fleming, who Keshet UK described as an “experienced trainer, facilitator and programme manager”, previously worked in local government, in fields including child poverty policy and IT programme management.

She has volunteered for KeshetUK since 2012, primarily working in education.

In a statement, KeshetUK’s trustees said: “We know (Ms Fleming) will bring lots of energy and hit the ground running at a time where demand for our services has far outweighed supply.”

KeshetUK was officially established in 2011.
