Katie Waissel keeps X Factor place

articlemain

It was déjà vu for Katie Waissel on the X Factor as the Jewish contestant had to sing for survival for yet another week in a row.

She was placed in the bottom two for a fifth time in the series but managed to keep her place in the competition.

After performing, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting on Saturday’s Elton John themed show, Ms Waissel looked enthusiastic and high spirited in what she called a ‘comeback song’. However, the judges were sceptical.

Judge Louis Walsh said: “It was a throwaway, forgetful performance.”

But Cheryl Cole told him: “What song would you have picked for her?!”

Danii Minogue commented: “The track ate you up a little bit and your voice sounded very small.”

Pitted against Aiden, she sang Save Me From Myself by Christina Aguilera.

The judges vote went to deadlock as each contestant received two votes, with Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole both voting to save Ms Waissel.

She grabbed Aiden and covered her ears in, but it was revealed that Aiden would be booted off the show, leaving the 24-year-old to sing for another week.
