Award-winning comedian Joshua Ross won his second accolade in as many months when he was crowned Jewish Comedian of the Year at the weekend.

Mr Ross, 28, from Barnet, beat five other hopefuls in the final to win £1,000 and a paid spot at JW3’s Hava Nagiggle comedy club.

The Hendon Reform Synagogue member was on a winning streak after winning New Comedian of the Year at Leicester Square Theatre in November.

On the judges’ panel were comedians Arnold Brown and Viv Groskop and arts critic Bruce Dessau. Hava Nagiggle’s resident Gareth Berliner hosteded the night’s events and the 250 audience members enjoyed a headlining set from comedian Joe Bor.

Eleven comedians originally took part in the competition which was part of JW3’s UK Jewish Comedy Festival.
