Hollywood producers are in talks to make a film about a former JFS boy who tried to commit suicide, it has been revealed.

Jonny Benjamin launched a nationwide search to find the stranger who stopped him jumping off Waterloo Bridge last year.

Mr Benjamin, who was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder — a form of schizophrenia, climbed over the railings and was ready to jump before he was persuaded back onto the pavement.

Just two days after the “Find Mike” campaign was launched with the Rethink mental health charity, Edgware Reform Synagogue member Mr Benjamin was reunited with the stranger who saved his life - personal trainer Neil Laybourn.

Both men are now Rethink ambassadors.

The story that led to their reunion will be the subject of a Channel 4 documentary next month, Finding Mike: The stranger on the bridge.

Now director Sam Forsdike has revealed that he is in talks to take the story to the Big Screen.

“We are in discussions with people,” he told the Independent. “There has been a lot of interest and we are looking to take it forward.”

He added: “Fingers crossed we will see Daniel Craig and Dominic Cooper in the movie.”

British actor Mr Cooper would play Mr Benjamin, he suggested.
