Hatzolah man stabbed

articlemain

A volunteer for Hatzolah, the Charedi volunteer rescue and emergency service, was stabbed in his car in North West London last week.

Zvi Hammond was still in hospital at the time of going to press, but his wife Tamara said his recovery was “going in the right direction, but I don’t know yet when he will be out of hospital”.

She explained: “He was not on duty at the time it happened, he had just been to the shops for me. It’s been quite a shock, as it would be for anyone.”

A second man was also stabbed in Golders Green the same night. Mrs Hammond said her husband and the second victim were not together, and they only later found out about the other stabbing.

Mohamed Jama Ahmed, 37, of North West London appeared at Hendon magistrates’ court on Tuesday charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm. He was sent for trial at Wood Green Crown Court.
