Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Opposition leader David Cameron have both issued messages to the Jewish community to mark Rosh Hashanah.

Mr Brown said his admiration for the British Jewish community was “boundless” and wished Anglo-Jewry “a good and sweet year”.

Mr Cameron said that “those of all faiths and none” could learn from the festival.
