Four men have denied assaulting a traffic warden in a mass brawl in Stamford Hill.

The incident, which took place on January 16 this year, saw police intervene after a dispute broke out in Leaside Road, Hackney.

Osher Freidman, 30, Mordechai Freidman, 31, Yakov Nowogrodski, 25,  and Benjamin Beigel, 25, all of Stamford Hill, appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The men - all Orthodox Jews - entered not guilty pleas to charges of assault by beating.

All four were granted unconditional bail and ordered to reappear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Friday August 25, when a date will be set for trial.
