David Schwimmer to appear at Limmud next year

The American TV star David Schwimmer, best known for his role in the long-running sitcom Friends, is set to appear at a Limmud event next summer.

He is billed to be one of the speakers at Cambridge Limmud in June.

Julian Landy, who is co-chairing the one-day event with his wife Jo, explained that the actor’s appearance was the result of an outing the couple made earlier this year.

“We went to Charleston Farm House in Sussex, home of the Bloomsbury group,” he said. “On the guided tour we heard about one of the last members of the group, Chattie Salaman,”

She was a Hollywood actress of Jewish descent. When they looked her up on Google, they found that her granddaughter was Zoe Buckman, a performance artist.

“I emailed her and asked if she would like to do a session,” Mr Landy said. “She emailed back and said she would love to come.”

Ms Buckman is married to Mr Schwimmer. “So, he is coming along and doing a session, too,” Mr Landy said.
