Daniel Radcliffe denies he will take Freddie Mercury role

articlemain

Daniel Radcliffe has denied rumours that he will replace Sacha Baron Cohen in the upcoming Freddy Mercury biopic.

The Harry Potter star was widely reported to be lined up for the singing role after Mr Cohen pulled out of the film following creative differences with surviving Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

But Mr Radcliffe told Empire magazine that there is “no truth” in the rumour.

“I am completely wrong for that part,” he said. “This is the kind of thing that happens to me and it happens to Emma (Watson). When somebody has column inches to fill, they just sub in one of our names.”
