Children's entertainer Captain Calamity has set a new Guinness World Record for the most shaving foam pies thrown in one minute by a team of two.

The comedian, from north-west London, whose real name is Dov Citron, broke the previous record for pie throwing with his colleague Paul Megram, who uses the alias Colonel Custard.

Mr Megram threw a record breaking 72 pies at Mr Citron, an Edgware Synagogue attendee, from a distance of 1.5 metres.

An official from Guinness World Records oversaw the attempt and confirmed the duo had beaten the previous record which stood at 71 pies thrown over a one minute period.

Mr Citron told the JC: "As a child I remember getting a Guinness Book of World Records every year for Chanukah and it was always the silly records that I enjoyed reading about most.

“Never did I believe that one day I would be part of this unique group of people."

The successful record attempt took place at the Kidtropolis children’s exhibition at London’s Excel on Monday. It took four attempts for the pair to break the record.

As well as performing at children’s parties, Mr Citron has worked at synagogue celebrations and themed events including for the Camp Simcha charity.
