Children’s lucky escape as car overturns

articlemain

Two children and their father narrowly escaped being hit by a car which overturned in a residential street in a Jewish area of Manchester.

The north-west air ambulance was dispatched to the scene on Hereford Drive, in the suburb of Prestwich. Both the Jewish family and the Jewish driver, a 60-year-old man, escaped injury after the blue Honda CRV clipped a parked car and overturned.

The father, who did not want to be named, said the vehicle landed upside down just two feet from where he was walking with his daughters, aged six and three.

Dozens of bystanders watched rescue workers pull the driver from out of the car via the boot. A waiting ambulance took the man to North Manchester General Hospital where he was later discharged with only minor injuries.
