An Islamic community centre will host a major Jewish exhibition as interfaith groups attempt to repair relations in the aftermath of the Gaza conflict.

The Board of Deputies’ Jewish Way of Life exhibition will be held at the centre in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in the spring.

At a meeting on Tuesday, members of the London Jewish Forum, synagogue bodies and the Board reaffirmed their dedication to developing stronger ties with the Muslim community.

They discussed how representatives of different faiths could use the shared threat of racism as a platform for new interfaith initiatives.

Henry Grunwald, the outgoing Board president, said: “It is now incumbent upon us all to prioritise interfaith on a local scale in communities throughout the UK as well as at a national level.”

The Board is currently developing a twinning project for synagogues and mosques which will allow communities to share information more easily.

It will also launch an anti-racism campaign to coincide with June’s European Parliament elections.

The Bradford exhibition was due to begin earlier this month, but was delayed due to the heavy snow.
