He was joined on the panel by playwright Bonnie Greer, Justice Secretary Jack Straw, Lib Dem home affairs spokesman Chris Huhne and Conservative peer Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

in response to an accusation of Holocaust denial, Mr Griffin said: "I have never been convicted of Holocaust denial."

He said that he did not accept "the figures" given about the Holocaust.

Presenter David Dimbleby challenged Mr Griffin for his attitude when challenged on the Holocaust. He said: “Why are you smiling? It’s not a particularly amusing subject.”

Mr Griffin later described the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) as a "non-violent" organisation.

Mr Griffin claimed he was “loathed” by neo-Nazis because he was too liberal.
Thousands of protesters outside the BBC studios broke a police corden but failed to stop Mr Griffin from entering the studio.
