Adir Tov: my X Factor diary

articlemain

British teenager Adir Tov is competing as part of a boy band on the Israeli version of the TV talent show and has survived the first round of voting.

“We were first on stage on Saturday night. We thought it would be bad but it wasn’t. You know, when you get told you’re going first, you think, oh no, that’s awful, but we really enjoyed it and nailed the performance.

“We sung ‘Some Nights’ by Fun, and we danced with a troop, who helped us make the beat of the song with our bodies, so we were basically singing acapella.

“It was very hard, because if we had danced out of time we would have ruined the whole song, but it went really well.

“The judges said they wanted us to be more serious but they stood up and clapped us so it was good, we’re happy with the feedback.

“We’ve put ourselves in a tough position for next week because we’ve done so well. We just have to get better and better.

“We knew we nailed it after the performance, so we didn’t think we were going to go home, but you never know if a good performance means you are going to get through.

“The boy who got voted out was only 15, he was a great singer and he had a lot of potential, but I think he was one you either like or don’t like.

“I hope people keep voting us in, it is such hard work but we’re already focused on next week.

“We’re going to be singing ‘Wrecking Ball’ by Miley Cyrus. We think she is cool, but we’re going to change it up, there will be no naked swinging on balls.

“But we do want to think out of the box with our performance, the group is so different and we want to showcase that.”
