articlemain

The award-winning playwright Yaël Farber is to direct her first production at the Donmar Theatre later this year. Knives in Hens, by David Harrower, has just been announced as past of the theatre's autumn season, and will start Christian Cooke, Judith Roddy and Matt Ryan.

South-African born Farber, who trained as an actor, is probably best known for her production of Loraine Hansberry’s unfinished final work Les Blancs, for the National Theatre in London, as well as her version of Salome, which is currently being performed there. She directed a revival of Arthur Miller's The Crucible at the Old Vic and is also working on a new adaptation of Sophocles.

Knives in Hens will run from August to October this year.
