A round of applause, please, for one television station that has been quietly showing Israel in a positive light.

Take a bow, shopping channel QVC. Whenever my wife switches it on - which is frequently - there seems to be an Israeli jewellery designer promoting their wares.

QVC silver jewellery buyer Mary Bradley introduced the Or Paz collection on UK TV a year ago. "When I first saw the pieces, I was very excited because the workmanship is beautiful and the techniques and designs very unique," she said.

Since then she has added another two Israeli designers, with more to come. "We have been so impressed with the craftsmanship and the customers' responses to our Israel collections," she said, "we are now bringing two new collections in August."
