Roden recipes keep shoppers cool

articlemain

Claudia Roden's grandson has found a fashionable location for a pop-up venture - inside Topshop's flagship Oxford Circus store.

Busy shoppers who have worked up a sweat among the racks can cool down by ordering one of Cesar Roden's gourmet ice lollies from a bar.

Some of Ice Kitchen's 12 flavours are inspired by his grandmother's recipes, such as Pistachio & Rose, derived from an Egyptian pud made with pistachio, milk and rose water.

Mr Roden said that the "tastes are simple and sophisticated. My favourites are the ones with coffee and an orange and lemon, one that is so thirst quenching it is better than a drink in the heat."
