Rapper in his natural habitat

Rappers do not usually spring from Golders Green with a business degree from Leeds.

But today marks the online release of the debut single of Dave In Charge, alias David Palmer, the JFS-educated grandson of veteran Liberal Democrat politician Lord Palmer of Childs Hill.

Dave’s biog, which describes him as a Conscious Rap artist, left me wondering: what would be an Unconscious Rap artist — until more switched-on younger colleagues informed me that “conscious” is an idiom for socially aware.

As you can guess, the single, entitled Habitat, is about nature and not a paean to an interior design store.
