Rabbi dreams of Xmas

The word, Christmas, has been banned by a council-funded charity, leading to outrage in the city of Oxford.

Oxford City Council has endorsed an idea from cultural development agency Oxford Inspires to call the end of year festivities the "Winter Light Festival".

Among those leading the howls of protests is a leading rabbi. Eli Bracknell, who teaches at the Jewish Educational Centre, said: "It is important to maintain a traditional British Christmas. Anything that waters down traditional culture and Christianity is not positive for the British identity." It sounds a bit like turkeys voting for Chanucah.
