Two United Synagogue rabbis had to cut short their officiation at Yom Kippur because they lost their voice mid-service. But happily both were able to call on their sons.

When Rabbi Stanley Coten could sing no more during minchah at Ruislip, his 17-year-old son Aron took over on the bimah. And when Rabbi Adam Hill was similarly stricken at Potters Bar Synagogue, up stepped 17-year-old Amichai to recite the afternoon Torah portion.
