Mayim Bialik gets paid two cents for TV appearance

Big Bang Theory Star astonished by royalty cheque for 1980s comedy drama

Actress Mayim Bialik has received a royalty payment for a pre-tax sum of two cents.

Ms Bailik, best known for her role in The Big Bang Theory, is still being sent cheques, probably worth less than the paper they are written on, for a guest appearance made on Doogie Howser, MD in 1990.

The Jewish star, who told the world via Instagram about one of the smaller fees ever received by a successful Hollywood actress, captioned a picture of the cheque: “That’s right. GROSS $0.02. NET $0.01.”

Doogie Howser, MD was a comedy-drama that aired for four seasons and which Bailik appeared on only once.

Fortunately for her, The Big Bang Theory returns for an eleventh season in September, and means Bailik won’t have to rely on her one cent pay.
