Jew-perbowl? NFL championship between Jewish owned teams

New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons: Kraft vs Blank

articlemain

The US Super Bowl, the annual championship game between the winners of the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC), is due to take place on Sunday evening. And, for the second time in six years, both teams taking part are owned by Jewish philanthropists.

The New England Patriots are owned by Robert Kraft, chief executive of the Kraft group, while Arthur Blank, a co-founder of the Home Depot DIY chain, owns the Atlanta Falcons.

If the Patriots triumph, this will mark the fifth championship win for Kraft since he purchasing the team in 1994. Meanwhile, Blank will be hoping for his first super bowl victory since he bought the Falcons fifteen years ago.

Both Mr Kraft and Mr Blank are dedicated supporters of Jewish charities. Could it come down to who prayed harder last Yom Kippur? Stranger things have happened during the 51 years of the US superbowl.
