Jeremy Corbyn's Friday night dinner

articlemain

There was a surprise choice of Friday night dinner guest at the home of Islington Chabad rabbi Mendy Korer last week.

Local MP Jeremy Corbyn — one of the most vociferous anti-Israel voices in Parliament — tucked in to the vegetarian option of asparagus and potato kugel.

The Labour politician was a leading supporter of blood libel cleric Sheikh Raed Salah, but that did not stop his constituent Rabbi Korer’s attempts to build bridges.

“The meal was exclusively for Jeremy to find out about the needs of the local growing Jewish community in Islington,” he said.

Discussion of Israel, however, was strictly not on the menu.
