Gingertops of the pops

Following in the footsteps of Stacey Solomon and Katie Waissel on the X Factor were married couple Brian and Annette Altman, who performed as The Gingertops on this season's show. Both are regulars at Jewish Care's Martin B Cohen centre, where Mrs Altman said they had become local celebrities.

Despite a gutsy performance of the Grease hit, the judges did not see fit to send the Harrow duo through.

But another mystery has emerged from the X Factor, according to a source in Israel. Flamboyant X Factor contestant David Wilder was praised for his performance last week, but he shares a name with the firebrand leader of the Hebron community. A radical career departure?
