Friday night's all right for dining

A couple of years ago I wondered whether Friday Night Dinner, Robert Popper's Jewish family comedy, had run out of steam and our reviewer Jennifer Lipman thought it more of a sinner than a winner. But enjoying a fourth outing this summer, the programme remains comfortably within Channel 4's top 10 and the viewing figures of around 1.7 million in each of its opening two episodes are holding up well.
