Comedy award winner set to take laughter to the next level

The winner of JW3’s “Jewish Comedian of the Year 2016” award is due to headline her first show at the end of the month.

Nicole Harris beat off strong competition from three other finalists to claim the title in December, at the third annual Jewish Comedy Festival.

She is the first woman to win the coveted comedy crown.

On Tuesday January 31, Ms Harris will be top of the bill at TNT Comedy, a regular comedy night held at the Vine Pub in Highgate, north London.

“After my win I was contacted by Sarma Woolf, the organiser of TNT Comedy, asking if I would headline on January 31, and of course I said yes”, Ms Harris said.

“I’ve performed at TNT comedy before, but never as a headline act. I’m very excited because it’s a great step towards progressing my comedy career.”

The comedian, who grew up in Edgware, north-west London, has recently set up an online group which aims to publicise all “bargain comedy nights in London.”

“It’s a Facebook page for comedy lovers on a budget”, she said, “to try and raise awareness that there are a lot of great open mic nights out there where newer acts start out, for example. Comedy doesn’t always have to be expensive.”
