Chuck Schumer under fire after meatloaf recipe

The American politician has been criticised after contributing a recipe to a new cook book

American politician Chuck Schumer has come under fire after contributing a recipe to a new cook book on meatloaf. The New York Senator joined several others, including fellow politician and speaker of the house Paul Ryan, and House minority leader Nancy Pelosi, in donating his favourite recipe to A Meatloaf in Every Oven: Two Chatty Cooks, One Iconic Dish and Dozens of Recipes. But of the 49 recipes, it is Schumer's that some - including the Algemeiner - have criticised, because the ingredients include beef, chicken, veal and....pork. 

Schumer, of course, is Jewish and Frank Bruni, co-author of the book describes his meatloaf as "so Chuck." However, pork is clearly not kosher, so while the dish may be "so Chuck", it's not something that we at the JC could really recommend....
