Bette Midler will return to Broadway this summer in the revival of the musical Hello, Dolly!.

Ms Midler, will play the title role of Dolly Levi, which was made famous by Barbra Streisand in the 1969 film starring Walter Mattau and Louis Armstrong.

The singer, songwriter, actress, comedian, and film producer led the Broadway show, which opened last year to rave reviews, until January, but will return for the last six weeks of the run, before it closes this August. She will take back the role from her successor Bernadette Peters (Annie, Mozart in the Jungle) and for which she won a Tony Award for her performance.
