It's difficult to imagine your typical Bette Midler fan sitting down to listen to Eminem's latest album. But as the singing sensation herself tweeted: "Yes, that is my version of “The Rose” on the new @ Eminem track “ARose”."

The rapper's latest album, Revival, was released last week, to mixed reviews, and features a host of famous names including Beyonce, P!nk and Midler.

Midler appears in the final track of the album; her song The Rose serving as a backdrop to Eminem's story of his near-death experience with prescription drugs.

The Rose was first recorded by Midler for the soundtrack of the 1979 film with the same name, and sold over half a million copies in the US. In 1981 Midler won a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song, beating nominees Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer.

This isn't the first time Midler has been the musical wind beneath the Eminem's wings. In his first album, he referenced Midler (albeit in a more inapproariate way than in ARose) and rhymed it with a reference to Fiddler on the Roof. Not one of Midler's musicals we know, but if you're reading this then it's the sort of combination you might be interested in.
