A JCoSS student has won a grant from O2's Think Big project to develop his idea to help refugees.
James Saker's app will give newcomers information on education, health, libraries, food, transport and culture.
"It's so important - there are so many unaccompanied young refugees in the UK," he explained. "Some charities have been trying to give them things like clothes and food. What people aren't giving them is information. There is a lot of Islamophobia in the UK, people aren't that willing to help them."
James, who is 14, will receive £300 to develop the app.
