Anne Frank goes app

articlemain

A new version of Anne Frank’s diary — which she began writing 70 years ago — should help it to secure the attention of the next generation.

The forthcoming App edition contains not only the text but a raft of illuminating features such as pop-up illustrations, archive material, broadcasts and news footage from the period and extracts from the audiobook of the diary read by Helena Bonham Carter.

The app, which has been produced by Viking, Penguin and TradeMobile, is out next month.
