Actor's Eilat hotel horror

One establishment that actor Richard E.Grant (right) is unlikely to revisit in his new Sky Atlantic series on top hotels is the one he once stayed at in Eilat.

“The smell was bad, the hotel wasn’t finished, the food was a buffet that looked like it had been hanging around for five days,” he recalled in a Times interview.

And then when he returned to Tel Aviv, “I was strip-searched at the airport with a torch shone up my bum because I only had diving gear with me and they accused me of being a spy that had come from Egypt into Israel.”
