Ros Goodman is about to star in a new BBC Two documentary, Return to the Cruise. The show, which starts next week, is one of a series of programmes that revisits hit television shows.

Mrs Goodman, 62, featured in the original version of the programme, The Cruise which - aired ten years ago - followed her experience on the same ship as cabaret singer Jane McDonald. "I got a letter from BBC Bristol last July explaining that they were making the new programme," Mrs Goodman, who went on her first cruise in 1988, tells People.

"The show looks at what has happened to people ten years on." So, what have been the most significant things to happen to her over the past decade? In addition to going on more than 25 cruises, Mrs Goodman has overcome endometrial cancer and taken up bowls. "My message is that people should be more open and positive about cancer. I took up bowls as it's very social and good exercise. It's a lovely hobby." She has also continued with her hobby of collecting teddy bears.

She explains: "I collect Jewish teddy bears. People think I'm ridiculous but I always take a bear with me on holiday." Mrs Goldman lives in Finchley, North London, with her husband Mel - and more than 50 bears.

She is a member of Hendon Reform Synagogue.
