Louis Paltnoi is doing his bit to raise awareness of the world's water shortage

Film and television producer Louis Paltnoi has made features for BBC, Channel 4 and Sky. Now he is lending his services to a more charitable cause. Mr Paltnoi, the 37-year-old co-founder of Inspired Films, has created two promotional videos and adverts - one features a voice over by Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley - for Just a Drop. Launched in 1998, the water-aid charity aims to reduce child mortality by providing accessible and clean water to poverty-stricken communities across the world. Mr Paltnoi made the videos, filmed in both Kenya and the UK, to promote the charity's new fundraising campaign, Friend for Life, to encourage people to donate £2 a month. The campaign will be launched on World Water Day, which takes place on Tuesday. Mr Paltnoi, who lives in East Finchley, north London, tells People: "I have been gobsmacked by the charity's vision. Nearly one billion people don't have access to clean water and a child dies every 20 seconds because of water-related diseases. These facts really hit me hard. Access to human water should be a basic human right and people take it for granted." He says just £1 can provide a child with regular clean water for ten years. Mr Paltnoi set up Inspired Films with Eitan Leibovitch. Clients include Warner Music, The National Autistic Society and Universal Music Group. In addition to Mr Paltnoi's corporate work, he is currently working on a romantic comedy, due to go into production later this year.
