Georgie Sussman has some very famous recipes

Nigella Lawson, Sophie Dahl and Amanda Holden are just some of the celebrities who have contributed to a new celebrity cookbook.

The Cupcake Ward Cookbook - a collection of cupcake recipes and desserts - is the brainchild of 12-year-old Georgie Sussman as a way of raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Georgie, who lives in north London, wanted to do something for the hospital's Cupcake Wing where her family friend Lucy received treatment for a rare brain tumour. Initially, she planned to sell the popular treats - her mother Meg runs a cupcake company - but she then decided to compile a book.

She wrote to family and friends, and later, celebrities. It was not long before the replies came flooding in.

She has raised £3,000 and hopes to raise between £15,000 and £20,000 in total.

Georgie tells People: "I really didn't think we would make this much. It's really cool."

Earlier this week, Georgie appeared on ITV's This Morning, where she helped celebrity chef Gino D' Acampo make his Double Chocolate Mouse with Pistachio Nuts dessert. Today, she is going into Great Ormond Street to bake her own Marvellous Marble Fudge creation with some of the children.

Richard E Grant, Raymond Blanc, Boris Johnson, Delia Smith and Pixie Lott also share their culinary secrets in the book.

Does Georgie have a favourite recipe? "We have made quite a lot of them and most of them are pretty good, but I would have to say Pixie Lott's."

Great Ormond Street is planning to sell the book as part of their Bake It Better fundraiser to help raise money for research into childhood cancer.
