Denise Phillips takes her recipes into cyber space

articlemain

Foodies with an appetite for Jewish cooking can create their favourite dish wherever they are, thanks to JC cookery writer Denise Phillips.

She has developed iPhone app Jewish Cookery, which features hundreds of her most popular recipes. The service, which is also available for other mobile phone downloads, has been launched in conjunction with Jewish Care. Users can search for courses, styles, ingredients and photographs.

She tells People: "Everybody may be going digital with their marketing campaigns - but we all still need to eat.

"Online is the way forward. People are buying iPads to put in their kitchen as they are lighter and easier than recipe books. It's the future."

Mother-of-three Ms Phillips has been writing recipes for more than 20 years. She contributes to a range of synagogue magazines and newspapers.

She is the author of five books - most recently The Jewish Mama's Kitchen - and also runs cookery classes-cum-networking opportunities for
singles.

The app is available for £2.99 with £1.00 from each download going to Jewish Care.

Her most popular recipes? The classics; toffee apple crumble, sweet potato and carrot soup, and chocolate apple cake. Bon appetit.
